Christmas in Botswana

Christmas Eve: it was so hot outside (110F) that we spent a few hours in a pool! A friend from our church offered the pool for our use, and it was quite a blessing. The heat was so intense on the patio that little Snickers burnt and blistered the pads of her feet while playing fetch.

Christmas Morning: JoAnne, Kelsie and I went to church and worshiped in song with a multi-national choir and heard a message on the meaning of Christmas.

JoAnne is showing off a hand-made apron from her best friend Teresa.

Kelsie, JoAnne, and Mike sending our love to Kali.
We miss you!
Here are some of the nice Christmas cards from our family, friends and supporters. We also received DVD movies, ornaments, apron, golf balls and tees, cash, and a Popular Science magazine from 1928! We want to express our thanks to everyone for your continued prayers and support for us as we are serving the Lord with Flying Mission.
Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Blessings in Botswana

Our daughter Kelsie is visiting from the United States.

I am so happy to be here! No snow, blue skies, and hot! Wow, look at the animals!

Impala Babies! All the animals at the Game Reserve have new babies.

Missionary dogs Penny and Snicker focused on JoAnne.

This is our Christmas "Baobab" tree. Coin check to Armor of God coin holders!

We have many blessings to be joyful about. Kelsie arrived and will spend Christmas with us here in Botswana while Kali is teaching high school and working on an educational grant in Idaho. The Lord has given us a house to rent beginning in January, and the Immigration Council has reviewed our file and agreed to let us stay for a while.

Joanne and Mike thank you for your prayer and support. We are standing firm in the faith and God has given us the grace and encouragement needed to endure the challenges and hardships of cross-cultural missions. We are blessed to be serving with Flying Mission. Our calling is to spread the good news of Jesus Christ through our aviation, training, and care ministries. Please join us in celebrating the joyous season of Christmas by focusing on Christ. "Joy to the world, the Lord is come."
